I've spent over 25 years inside organizations — and I've seen both ends of the spectrum.

I've seen organizations that get it right. Where authenticity isn't a talking point. It's just how things work, at every level. Where people feel it from day one. Those places don't happen by accident.

​

I've also spent years inside organizations that struggled to get it right. Close enough to see exactly where things broke down, why good intentions stalled, and what it costs an organization when the culture and the work don't line up. I've seen the toll it takes on the people who make up that organization too.

I hold a Doctorate in Business Psychology and a Master's in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Two degrees that essentially mean I've dedicated my academic and professional life to understanding how people and organizations actually work. Not just in theory, but in practice. In the highs, the lows, and the messy middle that rarely makes the case studies.

What I've learned is that most organizations don't have a shortage of smart people or good intentions. What they sometimes lack is clarity. About what's actually happening, why it's happening, and what to do about it without making it worse.

And clarity doesn't come from a playbook. It comes from actually understanding the organization in front of you. The dynamics, the history, the things that don't get said in the all-hands meeting.
